Landscaping Makeover

This week we said goodbye to several trees in our front and backyard, and several others received a much needed haircut. Our house was sold with a nicely wooded backyard when we bought it. It was exactly what we were looking for at the time. We loved the woods, and we thought we would often be out in them. As we found out, though, the back yard was rarely used. There were so many bugs and mosquitos, it was tough to move around. I swear the bug spray simply made them bigger and meaner. There were so many sticks and some dead trees, it was beginning to be a safety hazard. So, over time we decided we needed to make our backyard more useable by planting grass (still keeping many trees for privacy and shade). In order to get to that point, a lot needed to be done. Many trees needed to be trimmed, and several needed to get taken out. So we hired a tree company this week to do much of the work. They did an awesome job, and we are looking forward to the next step-leveling out the back with soil and prepping it to grow grass!
