Jason is home sick today. He is having another bout with what the doctor has labeled viral induced asthma. He started with a runny nose yesterday morning, and by evening it was the same coughing until exhaustion. Poor guy. I called the doctor and they did suggest I take him to urgent care. In case you haven't been to urgent care in awhile-it was CRAZY. I have never seen so many sick people-it was Children's urgent care, so all were kids. One little boy couldn't stop throwing up, another had a huge gash in the back of his head-so Jason's cough seemed minor. 3 hours later, he is now on the steroids again, and prescription cough medicine that has Codeine was prescribed to get him to rest and help him heal while he is sleeping.
He's sad that he will be missing wrestling this week, and he's hoping he will be better by the time the Coaches 2 Day Invitational rolls around this Saturday. I'm hoping it's not me that has to break his heart come Friday night.
Jason had wires all around him last night, he finally draped one around his ear to keep it out of the way, you can see in the pic. His spirits are great, as always, so he showed great humor at Urgent Care. He used a surgical glove he called his coughing glove, and of course had a great time cracking jokes with the hospital staff.
thats funny... my son has asthma ( well the doctor calls it allergy induced asthma).. it was bad when he was little but he seems to be doing better now. we only have breathing issues here and there. it started when he was six weeks old and that was alot of fun!! NOT
ReplyDeleteHey there! That's what it's been coined for Jason sometimes, too...allergy induced. Really it's whenever his allergies act up, or he gets a headcold/virus, always moves to his chest. So it sounds lke the same! :) We were hoping it would get better as he got older, but with contact sports, he's getting more colds/virus'. Grrr....:)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Jason is sick.I'll say a few prayers that he feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteLove and miss you all,
Grandma
